Hello, my name is Allison.
Coming from Canada many years ago to live in Germany has meant getting to know a new language and culture.
This has inspired me and sparked my own interest in teaching English, a function that I am carrying out in two different
courses. Always trying to recognise students' individual needs, I get pleasure and satisfaction in helping learners expand their
knowledge of my language and improve their speaking skills.
In a relaxed atmosphere we talk about personal experiences, exchange ideas and opinions. Different reading and listening materials over a wide range of topics of general interest including current news events, travel etc. are used to encourage conversation. Although our focus is on communication, we also review certain points of grammar when needed. Listening to and understanding English song texts and various word games add enjoyment to our lessons.
In this course you can brush up your knowledge of English, and at the same time learn new and interesting information about the English-speaking world. We use different reading and listening materials as a source of class discussion with the aim of improving vocabulary and gaining fluency and confidence in speaking.
